Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn (born in America) is an American actress. Her most famous role is Skyler White on the AMC Drama Breaking Bad, for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and in 2014 for Outstanding Supporting actress in an Drama Series. The actress has also appeared as Jean Ward in The Practice, and Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn began acting as a child in Sante Fe New Mexico. After that, her family relocated to Ohio and she continued her interest in performing on stage. She attended theatre classes through Northwestern University and spent a period in the British American Drama Academy. Anna was working in the theatre in the Chicago area for several years prior to trying her hand at TV and film roles. Anna got her first major part in the role of Arden in the TV show Down the Shore. Down the Shore aired 29 episodes from 1992. After appearing as a Guest on several TV shows and films, such as Seinfeld and NYPD Blue in the 90's, she was given the role of Jean Ward as part of The Practice. The mid-2000's saw her was placed in Deadwood as Martha Bullock for two full seasons. Skyler was the character she played in her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully as well as Deadwood are also a the highlights of her career. Gunn was also in the David Schwimmer directed the film Sex With Strangers. In 2022 the actress also starred in a four-part podcast of audio plays called Numbered Days. Breaking Bad is often centered on the relationships between Walter White with his wife Skyler. Their strained bond and their eventual break up echoes final years in Walter White's story.
